Press Opportunities for Interviews, Previews and Show Reviews Available!
Austin, TX rockers SCORPION CHILD are getting ready to hit the road this Saturday.  Along for the ride is providing direct support is Berlin Germany's KADAVAR.  Also on the bill will be Gypsyhawk, Wilson and Mothership.  The tour kicks off this Saturday in Denver, CO and runs through October 5th in Brooklyn, NY.  SCORPION CHILD are touring in support of their self-titled debut and KADAVAR are out in support of their sophomore release Abra Kadavar.

SCORPION CHILD lead guitarist Chris Cowart commented on the upcoming tour:

"We are super stoked for our upcoming run with KADAVAR, Gypsyhawk, Wilson and Mothership! Hide your daughters!"

KADAVAR also cannot wait to hit the road in the states:

"After not being able to make it happen in March, we are very excited to be heading out on this tour and bring our live show to the fans in many new cities!"

Hooks are a musical idea; a short riff, passage, or phrase of notes that catches the ear of the listener in a way that makes them to want to hear it again.  Some bands have them; many don't.  Austin-based five-piece SCORPION CHILD have 'em in spades.  Whether it's an extended blues jam or a short slice of bombastic heavy rock, hooks by The Child are so tempting, everyone bites.  With a warm sound heralding back to the psychedelic rock of the early 1970s, SCORPION CHILD members add the eclectic tastes of more contemporary influences such as Pentagram, Hairy Chapter, and Lucifer's Friend to their musical stew.  Formed in 2006, they've spent the last few years perfecting both their songwriting and stage show.  Guitarists Chris Cowart and Tom "The Mole" Frank deliver their twin guitar attack with a finesse older than their years; bassist Shaun Avants and drummer Shawn Alvear are steadfast sentinels of their driving rhythm section; and lead singer Aryn Jonathan Black fronts the psychedelic rock cavalry with a passionate voice reminiscent of the early eras of Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant and Rainbow's Ronnie James Dio.

Primed to join the elite ranks of rock's present day flag bearers such as Graveyard, The Sword, Wolfmother, and Rival Sons, SCORPION CHILD is a band you'll be proud to admit you've known since their debut album.  Grandsons of the fathers of rock, their music will take you through your past, present, and future and bring you back feeling hopeful, alive, and ready to take on whatever life throws your way.

It was already with 2012's eponymous debut album that KADAVAR casted a spell on all fans of solid riff-driven yet doom-like 70's hard rock à la BLACK SABBATH or PENTAGRAM. Marrying this with the spacy psychedelic approach of early HAWKWIND and mixing in a distinct own touch while preserving their icon's warm vintage charm can doubtlessly be considered the trio's key to success - astoundingly high vinyl sales and support shows for bands such as SLEEP, SAINT VITUS, PENTAGRAM and ELECTRIC WIZARD as well as stunning festival gigs at "Stoned From The Underground", "Yellowstock" and "Fusion Festival", among others, underline KADAVAR's status as one of the scene's most exciting acts.

Carrying the experiences of dozens of played live shows as a source of inspiration inside them, KADAVAR entered the timeless space of their studio end of last year to procure supplies for their ever growing fan base that was starving for more - in the form of their second full-length album and debut on Nuclear Blast.  Now that their album is out, the band is ready to hit the road in North America.
